Why It Works

Multisensory instruction techniques means using more than one of our senses to learn. Research shows that using multisensory techniques accelerate learning and memory mastery. It is especially significant in helping struggling learners and second language students. The National Reading Panel and the United States Department of Health provide evidence that using multisensory instruction works for all learning styles and learners. At Step to Success, we have built all our lessons and selected courseware that support multisensory techniques. All our teachers are trained in the modalities of effective multisensory instruction. Hands-on activities play a large role in supporting student learning and support student's ability to learn long after their tutoring experience is over.
